A cake in a cup; CUPCAKE

I was having a major cupcake craving at 11 pm yesterday. I needed an instant sweet gratification, and resorted to making myself a chocolate cake in 5 minutes. Yes, 5 minutes!....in the microwave....Instant!

I was so busy indulging in the chocolaty goodness I forgot to take a picture. I found one that looked pretty similar to what I made. The only difference, I didn't add any fruit. If I have to sin, might as well go the whole jingbang! Oh, and before you scold me for eating 5000 calories after 7 pm.... I worked out for 2 hrs today! :D

Ingredients:

2 tbsp baking cocoa
4 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
1 Egg
3 tbsp Oil
3 tbsp Sugar
3 tbsp Milk
½ tsp Vanilla Extract
1 scoop Vanilla Ice Cream *optional

Cake in a cup:

In a large microwavable coffee cup/mug, add all the dry ingredients into it – the flour, the cocoa and the sugar

To this add mixture add the egg and whisk completely; keep checking for lumps

Now, add in the milk, oil, and the vanilla extract and mix it thoroughly

Place this cup in the microwave and bake for 3 minutes

When the cake rises to the top, remove the cup and allow to cool a little

Dig in straight or tip onto plate and enjoy. If you want, you can add fresh fruit, or some whipped cream, a dollop of vanilla ice cream or some chocolate syrup

Enjoy!

Cupcake of the week! (COTW)

To say that I love cupcakes would be an understatement. I breathe, live cupcakes...or would like to do so. I spend many hours online just looking at various cupcakes, designs, themes, flavors, recipes and images (am I weird?). I usually save the pictures of the ones I like in a folder on my desktop where I sneak a peak every now and then. (confirmed. I am weird) So to honor my love for pretty cupcakes, I thought I'd showcase a cupcake of the week (COTW) every Friday! :) what say?

Keeping in theme with this weekend, this COTW is:

Although, it's known that Karl Lagerfield often dictates a size zero image for his muse and models which I'm not too happy about, I must say, the man can make McDonald's look sexy!

How gorgeous are these cakes and cupcakes? I don't think I could ever eat them. They're just too pretty to be gobbled up.

The high fashion logo lollipops are designed by Massimo Gammacurta. They come in different flavors including watermelon, pomegranate, wild cherry, apple and caramel. What a Genius!

I found these soda brands converted into jewelery so interesting. They are available on Etsy with the name 'funky junq'. I seriously wouldn't mind owning a few.

He may not be fashionable, but boy do I love this guy ;) (Spongebob). My birthday cake last year! And yes, I'm 5! :D

Seeing these pictures is giving me a serious craving for ....food.....no wait.....shopping...no...umm.....uhh food...hmmm shopping?

Cupcakes make me happy

The bf made my day. Rather the weekend. I'm in my happiest element when I'm surrounded by food I love. So we did exactly that, ate some great Italian on Sunday. Yummy fettuccine with vegetables and scrumptious chicken pizza. We headed out to the mall to take in the Christmas festivities and browsed through stores and marveled at the sparkly decorations.

No. I didn't shop. I didn't really need to buy anything. Wait, is that even possible? Sadly so it is, especially when you've put a self imposed shopping ban on yourself. Now one would wonder, who would dare to put a shopping ban on themselves during Christmas and New year's? Well, I HAD to. Simple reason, my sister just bought me a suitcase full of goodies from the US- clothes, shoes, accessories, gadgets..the works! ;) I just am w..a..i..t..i..n..g for her to come to Delhi with her goody bag. She's my Santa! :D

Weekend highlight: Cupcakes by the bf :). I was 'acting' all mopey and childish because I couldn't shop so off he went and surprised me with cupcakes! He knows me so well :D
